Miracles and Faith

Sometimes we are so overwhelmed and buried in the challenges we face we don’t even know where to start…

May I suggest…

“Step away from the tears, confusion, and uncertainty… and ASK for a miracle!”

Pray for a miracle…

Pour your heart out to the Lord.

Tell Him your situation, your story, your doubts, your fears, your hopes, your ideas.

Talk to Him… He is eager to listen and help.

Don’t worry if your faith is strong enough, just bring what you have with all your heart!

Somewhere in the release of all that emotional drama you may feel twinges of hope, and snippets of peace.  Notice them and look for more.

Listen for answers.  Watch for pieces to show up in your life, sometimes in the most odd places.

Do your part when you are prompted to, even if you’re not sure how it fits.

Be willing to think differently, be curious, and be willing to do your part if/when it’s needed.

Be patient, be quiet, be calm…

–If you are struggling to see the twinges of hope and snippets of hope in the emotional drama, message me and we’ll talk.  The still small voice is subtle and I can help you recognize it in the emotional drama moments.

”He will be there, and He will be right.  He will suit the miracle to the moment(s) we need it.”

Some have asked, “If He’s just going to do it His way then why do I need to pray and ask for a miracle.”

Let me go to a quote on prayer that I love first…

“Prayer isn’t to change the will of God, but to secure for ourselves those blessing for us and others, the blessings the Lord willing grants us, but are conditional upon our asking for it.”

Let’s break this down…

Prayer isn’t to change the will of God, because we are to surrender our will to His; and we can only do this IF we believe that what He has planned for our lives is so much more miraculous than what we have planned for our lives.

However, this often leaves us with some unknowns.  How will I get there?  Will the road be rough?  Will I fall and scrape my knee along the way?  Will I almost fall off a cliff before you save me?

Because of these “unknowns” our brains reject God’s plan and stick with the one we have mapped out with certainty (wink, wink), thinking it will be less painful and easier.

But as we come believe His path is better than ours, we are willing to take faith filled steps.

When things work out, our trust in God and His path increases.

When we stumble and fall, we distrust ourselves and/or God, and wonder if we picked the right path.

This is a lifelong journey and we have the opportunity to CHOOSE again and again to TRUST God over ourselves.

Okay, back to our quote, “to secure for ourselves the blessing God wants to grant us, but are conditional upon our asking for them”

Well that’s hopeful – He wants to bless us!  Yay!  But why do we need to “secure them?”

I’ve heard it described this way before…

You have a catalog, or webpage, of blessings to choose from.  Which one’s do you want?

When you ASK for a certain blessing, it’s like making an order…

Through lots of unseen and unknown actions those items arrive at your doorstep.

Likewise, when we pray and ASK for blessings, we are making an order with God.

Even though you do not know how that order will come, you asking for that miracle, lets Him know what you desire.

And in unseen ways your order starts moving towards you.

There is more to this than fits in the post and many other questions to answer.  But try to remember God knows you perfectly and He knows the perfect path to bring you what you desire.  Our surrendering to his timetable and preparing for the miracle is part of the process to receive the miracle.

Miracles are worked through the power of faith

“And neither at any time hath any wrought miracles until after their faith;”

Again, don’t worry about having enough faith, just bring what faith you have…

The more experiences you have with miracles, the stronger you faith will become.

This is one of my favorite things to experiment with…

At least once a year, I asked the Lord to teach me about faith and miracles.

Sometimes it’s because I’m struggling with something and I need more help and inspiration.

Sometimes it’s just for fun.  (who does that?)

Why?  Because I can and I want to have that kind of relationship with the Lord.

The kind of relationships that says, “Dad, I want to create this in my life – can you help me!”

He accepts whatever faith I bring and multiplies it, as we work together to create a miracle.

Have you ever thought of it this way?  Do you want to try it?  It’s really fun!
