Curiosity is essential for growth.
As humans we are wired to expand, to want more, to become something better, etc.
We want to grow!
However, we fear change and like to be comfortable and surround ourselves with familiar
people, places and things.
Curiosity is the bridge between wanting more and becoming more, and staying comfortable and
familiar.
The brain rejects large shifts in thinking, like jumping from “I’m never enough” to “I am totally
enough.”
Though we wish we could, most people need a gentle bridge from one to the other.
Curiosity facilitates this process best, because it allows you to wonder what it might be like to
“be enough” just as you are, in this moment (something you’ve probably never allowed yourself
to wonder about before).
Curiosity sounds like, “What if…” and “I wonder…” and “Is that true?” and “Could there be
another way?” and “What would that look like?”
Curiosity allows you to consider possibilities you may have thought impossible.
Most of us look at our circumstances and do not see any way out of the situation.
We look at what is, and all the ways it won’t work and how we simply can’t change…
And we stay stuck!
It’s just impossible.
Curiosity, however, allows you to wonder, “what if things could change, then what??”
If my circumstances could become different, what would that look like?
What would I have to learn, let go of, and allow for this to become my new reality?
These kinds of questions help get you unstuck and guide you towards taking action in a way
you might not have considered before.
Over time, you might discover that the impossible really was possible… with a little mind shift.
