As I think about the many sources of light available to and experiment with in photography, I remember that each has a specific “feel” to them and are used in different situations.
As I talk about some of these, ask yourself, “What kind of light am I?”
You may be a different type of light in different circumstances, that just fine!
Don’t compare yourself or wish you were a different type of light just embrace all the wonderfulness of the light you are and work to shine it and bless others.
A CANDLE is a gentle, warm, inviting glow. It lights a small space and brings our focus to where it is. People come in close to see and feel it’s warmth. It’s personal and intimate.
A FLASHLIGHT/SPOTLIGHT is quite bright and focuses our attention to one spot. It points to what is important and what we need to pay attention to. It’s often loud and flashy.
PARTY LIGHTS are fun and inviting. They cover a larger area and provide a continuous flow of light. They stand out in low lit areas and beacon people to come join, come see, and come and belong.
A LIGHTHOUSE is a very powerful light, used to warn of danger and to be a beacon or a landmark to help ships know where they are. In the past it required vigilant attention to keep lit, especially on stormy nights.
SOLAR LIGHTS are used in many situations and need constant recharging. This is such a great reminder that WE all need to be plugged into a source of electricity (whether solar, battery or electric) because we need DAILY recharging.
What kind of light are you?
Take a minute to write your thoughts… what are your strengths? Where would you like to improve?
The Lord needs PEOPLE OF LIGHT, of all kinds, to be ready and willing to BLESS the lives of His children.
Embrace your light, help it grow and continue to shine. Share it with others!

The Power of Many
If one flickering candle can pierce the darkness…
Think of what many candles could do.
Furthermore, if one spotlight is illuminating Jesus Christ…
What could many spotlights pointing us towards Jesus Christ do to influence the world.
Let us bring what light we have (big, small, warm, or loud) and focus it on Jesus Christ!
LET GO of things that hold the darkness in our lives and DO MORE of those things that bring in love and light.
Let go of grudges and remove contention from our lives.
Let go of resentments and show more gratitude.
Let us be more forgiving and understanding.
Let God prevail by allowing Him to influence your schedule, your resources, and your relationships.
Together we will snuff out darkness in the world and FILL IT WITH LIGHT!
Those searching for the true light of this world, Jesus Christ, will find us…
And join us…
In BECOMING a people “able, ready, and worthy to receive the Lord when He comes again.”
There is strengthen and power in many, but it will take all of us…
I am confident, we can be that people!
In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen! –Thank you to everyone who reads these posts, even if you don’t comment or “like” it. I know you are out there, and I am glad to be joined with you! Please share these posts often. The Lord asked me to write these. Help me get His message out to gather everyone in, even if it’s just an online community. We need each other however we can gather.
