Embracing What Is

Sometimes life doesn’t go the way we planned.  In fact, sometimes life is downright hard!

Resisting makes it worse (remember how I actually got sick in the previous post).

But what if nothing has actually gone wrong?  What if this was what was always supposed t happen? (Like maybe I was supposed to delay writing this month, so I could give you a really good example of what not to do).

If we embrace what experiences life is giving us, we will still have growth and learning.

Embracing what is, helps us “let go, and let God.”

It opens us up for guidance and personal revelation and helps us be humble and teachable.

It often teaches us the next thing we need to learn in life.

Embracing what is, is often freeing and empowering, because it helps us let go of old thoughts, energies, and patterns of living so we can create new and better ones.

Embracing what is, isn’t always easy –

It takes practice, and lots of noticing your emotions and watching the thoughts you are having.

It takes examining those thoughts and feelings and asking yourself, “Is that really true?”

It takes choosing if you want to keep those thoughts or if you want to find different ones that might serve you better in that situation.

It’s worth it!

Embracing what is, doesn’t mean you’re going to feel fantastic.

You may need to allow some time for grieving of something you always thought was true, but isn’t.

You may need to allow some time to be disappointment that it didn’t work out the way you thought was best.

You may need to allow some time for uncertainty as you look for a different way forward.

When I finally embraced that I had to write these posts, I was sad I couldn’t use that time I spent writing for other things.

As you allow time for these emotions, and deal with them in constructive ways…

You open yourself up to your best creative-solution-finding abilities (you get ideas to write about).

You look for new ways to solve your challenges (like me wearing red to help keep my scattered brain grounded and focused—if your wondering “why red?” message me).

You become flexable, open, and teachable…

It makes room for the spirit to guide you next steps.

–If you don’t know how to allow emotion, we need to talk!  Becoming emotionally resilient will be one of the most valuable skills you poses in life!  I can help!
