Here are more simple and easy ideas for creating #happinessonpurpose…
Create Something
When I create something, I get a dopamine hit.
I do love to create parties, events, and do crafts…
But I get that same happiness fix when I make dinner, or write inspirational posts.
So… how do you create in your life?
Maybe you dance, or paint.
Maybe you write music, or lesson plans.
Maybe you’re talented cook or gardener.
Lately, I’ve found joy in listening to a children’s fantasy book while I crochet or work on a diamond painting.
Whatever it is you do to create… let those moments fill you will joy and happiness.
Acknowledge the happiness and choose to let it fill you up!
Learn Something New
This might boarder obsession for me.
It’s the reason I love photography, foot zoning, Photoshop, teaching, interior design, life coaching, the scriptures, etc.
I’ve graduated from multiple schools, received several certificates, and completed lots of programs.
I love to learn!
Learning something new triggers small amounts of dopamine in your brain.
It gets you excited and coming back for more.
Thankfully we tend to learn here a little and there a little, thus triggering the dopamine in our brain in small, healthy amounts all along our learning journey.
If you’re feeling stagnant, pick something to learn about.
It’ll get you excited, bring happiness into your life, and give you a reason to get up and get going.
–What are you learning about right now that gets you excited and brings you happiness?
Clean/Organize Something
I know, some of you are like, “no way, this does not make me happy.”
Stick with me though.
Getting started with the cleaning and organizing is not usually the fun part.
Even the act of cleaning and organizing isn’t always fun.
But when you have finished cleaning that bathroom or vacuuming the floor…
Or cleaned out the closet, or organized the dishes, or gone through those boxes…
Don’t you feel happier!?!
I feel better, less heavy… like there is room in my life for more happiness now. (sigh – I love it!)
Did you know, you can enjoy the entire process more (beginning, middle, and end) if you choose to focus on how happy you’ll be when you get to the end result.
If you focus on the end result, it usually gives you enough momentum to get started.
Once your started, if you’re like me, you’re not stopping until you’re done!
Somehow each closet I clean up, floor I vacuum, dish that goes in the dishwasher increases my dopamine levels and I feel happier!
As you practice some of these ideas this week notice if you feel a little better when you do it. And watch your thoughts…
