How Your Brain Works

This month I’m going to share “How Your Brain Works”

So you can better understand what is going on while you are “thinking.”

I’m also going to share some great basic tools that I return to over again.

Some things you may have heard before, that’s okay, we can all use the repetition.

Did you know, the average person has 75,000 thoughts a day?

And 80% of are negative thoughts (ouch)

You’ll never be able to manage all those thoughts, but we can bring awareness to the ones that are impacting our lives the most and adjust them as needed.

To do this we use mind exercises…

Like taking your body to the gym to become healthier and stronger…

Your mind also needs to be exercised.

At the gym you break down muscles so they can rebuild stronger.

At the mind gym, we break down thoughts so we can rebuild with more confidence in life.

Let’s make this year great by practicing some mind exercises.

**

We have been trained to listen to our feelings and then form thoughts that match our feelings.

However, our feelings come from our thoughts.

Perhaps we should ask more questions when we notice our feelings, like…

What thought(s) am I having that are making me feel this way?

Do I like these thoughts?

Are they supporting what I want in my life?

Would I like to change my thoughts?

If yes, what thought(s) do I need to start believing so I will feel better?

I love to ask my brain these questions (particularly when I’m unhappy)

It helps me see where I’m creating a kink in my life; then I can work to make it better.

But it’s a good practice to do when you are happy also so you notice what makes you feel good-and you can do more of that.

Continue to ask questions and experimenting with thoughts until you feel PEACE.
